RiskFrame® Data Sheets align, integrate and present the extensive data sets required for accurate risk assessment into a pipeline alignment sheet format. Comprehensive risk management programs require analysis of many factors that can influence pipeline integrity. The operator must be able to examine corrosion, materials, and operational data as well as processed output from other programs such as risk models. With aligned data, it is possible to analyze not only the many individual data sets, but also their interaction. Trends and themes begin to emerge, and prudent decisions are no longer lost in the noise of overwhelming data.
A map band and corresponding data bands depict the risks and consequences of various events along the length of the pipeline. Because the data bands are directly correlated with mileposts, users can clearly see how specific factors alter the risk associated with any point on the system. Visualizations include potential release volume graphs, spill extent maps, environmental risks (flood, earthquake, etc.), corrosion risk, and population consequence to name a few. The alignment sheet format enables direct correlation to legacy alignment sheets by maintaining ties to engineering station values.
In addition to supporting analysis, the RiskFrame Data Sheet enhances communication among internal departments, and with regulatory agencies because all relevant information about a pipeline is displayed in a single document. It is an easy-to-use reference tool for documenting pipeline conditions, and for documenting the rationale behind mitigation decisions.
