Director of Professional Services

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to direct a growing and progressive team of professional services staff providing software implementation, data processing, and GIS analysis services to the oil and gas pipeline industry. The group of over 20 staff members includes Project Managers, Database Analysts, GIS Analysts, and software implementation specialists.

The Director of Professional Services is responsible for all day to day operations for the Professional Services Group (PSG). The successful candidate will have sufficient technical knowledge of GIS and a demonstrated track record of project delivery based on the ESRI platform. The Director of Professional Services will also have sufficient experience in management of projects to guide Project Managers in the systematic setup and execution of projects.

Responsibilities

Day-to-day management of the Professional Services Group in Atlanta and Houston
Technical mentoring and leadership
Monitoring of PSG group labor utilization
Documentation and improvement of production processes
Resource allocation for all team members
Technical project tasks, including consulting for strategic clients and projects
Development and approval of Statement of Work (SOW) documents
Support Account Management staff with project budgeting, scheduling, and proposal preparation
Specification of IT and infrastructure needs for the group
Coordination with the Software Engineering group to specify internal application and utility needs
Technical Advisory role and task management for selected projects
Participation in technical client meetings and presentations as needed

Requirements

Advanced University degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Geography, or related field
Proven history of successful project management experience
Proven history of staff management and leadership, minimum of 10 concurrent staff members
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
Broad knowledge of vector and raster processing techniques
Exposure and understanding of the ESRI product family, to include ArcGIS Desktop (plus extensions), ArcGIS Server, ArcIMS and ArcSDE.
Strong communication and leadership skills
Strong RDBMS design and management skills (Oracle and/or SQL Server)
Highly self motivated – driven to “get the job done”
History of developing new and innovative approaches to difficult tasks
Able to perform and maintain a cohesive team in high pressure situations

Travel: Travel to existing and prospective client sites as required.

Application Developer

GeoFields, a recognized leader of managed data solutions for the oil and gas pipeline industry, is seeking multiple talented Microsoft Application Developers. The successful candidate should have experience with Visual Basic, Visual Basic.NET, Active Server Pages and be versed with newer Microsoft technologies. This position requires an individual with strong communication and collaboration skills as well as excellent coding habits including code documentation, unit testing, and the ability to follow specifications and coding standards.

General Description

This role will code new product features based upon functional requirements and technical specifications, conduct unit testing of produced work to validate functionality, conduct unit testing to ensure performance goals are achieved, resolve product defects reported by product support and quality assurance, follow the established software development methodology, review the work of peers to ensure consistency and quality, provide status updates of work progress and keep up to date with emerging Microsoft technologies.

Requirements

BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Experience in coding both Web and Windows Form based applications using Microsoft technologies
At least 4 years of experience with C#
Experience in writing software utilizing COM, ADO, ADO.NET, and XML
experience in writing software that runs against either Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server
strong problem-solving, analytical, and conceptual skills and a strong working knowledge of object-oriented concepts and software patterns. Prefer candidates that are self-motivated and able to participate in the organization and execution of large-scale projects.

Customer Application Support Analyst

Position requirements include a bachelors degree with exposure to GIS as well as equivalent work experience such as internships or commercial experience. Some experience with ERSI GIS applications (such as ArcGIS, ArcSDE and ArcIMS) as well as relational databases (Access, SQL Server, Oracle) is required.

First level client support of GeoFields' software applications
Work with current customers to solve technical issues with software. This includes researching and analyzing issues with other members of GeoFields staff across the entire company.
Extensive interaction with GeoFields' clients; this position requires excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanor, an ability to listen to clients' questions, and exceptional personal skills.
